WELCOME TO INDIAN ACADEMY OF YOGA

Indian Academy of Yoga which was established in 1979, during the conference on Yogic Sciences and Society at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) with Headquarter at Malviya Bhawan, BHU.

The aim & objective of the society is defined in the constitution attached herewith. The society is the mainly consist of learnit Yogic with scientific temperament & those persons who are interested in Yoga and have got interested in Yog with a good standing. From times immemorial the city of Kashi, nesting on bank of Ganga, India's sacred river, the city known in recent time also under the names of Varanasi, Banaras or Benaras has been contributing vigorously to the growth and propagation of yoga.

"THE YOGA REVIEW" is the quarterly journal of the Indian Academy of yoga and will appear, each Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter ordinarily (towards the end of March, June, September and December every year). It will contain articles, research papers, reports of institutions, theses, synopses etc. dealing with theoretical as well as practical aspects of Yoga on a scientific and systematic basis and in modem idiom.

Members of the human family are today attracted in large numbers to this Science and Technology of Yoga with various motivations viz., to maintain and improve their physical health, mental well-being and intellectual vigour, to find cures for physical, mental and intellectual ailments and deficiencies, to raise and enlarge their range and level of cognition and consciousness, to seek and attain to higher rungs of the evolutionary ladder or to understand the concept and actual experience of Cosmic consciousness or Unity with the Divine.
